MBR 098 THE GRINDOLLS Kill your darlings CD
Music made by musicians, who cling to being a fan - in spite of any urge to be genuine.
Almost a year after publishing their debut "Hate, love and greed" (Mad Butcher/ KOB Records) and after finishing a 19-day European tour, the Ruhr-area-kickass-punkrockers now put the successing album "Kill your darlings" (Mad Butcher / KOB Records) on the market.
While their debut has been characterized as a successful poach of "the last 25 years of punkrock", THE GRINDOLLS went back 10 more years to create "Kill your darlings":
Besides classic punk there are influences by glam, rock and blues shimmering through nowadays, but there is no blind kind of imitation going - THE GRINDOLLS interpreted these sounds in their own, winking style.
Their spectrum also widened regards content: THE GRINDOLLS address the garage-rock-ode "Weekend schizophrenia" to weekend-loser and leisure-time-punks, sing about the consantly decreasing social and political engagement in society ("Waiting aside") and also throw a critical glance at the recruiting policy of the American government ("R.A.M.B.O.").
The recording process has been supported by several friends like Christian Kubzcak (Colt 45, Broilers, Porters), who shows his piano-skills at "Lady Copperhead, "Settle old scores" and "Bags are packed", and the Berlin-punkrockers STROM, who lend their voices to put the finishing touch to "R.A.M.B.O.".
THE GRINDOLLS enjoy the limelight. Guitars held high - fists in the air. Their first-class live performance speaks for itself.
"Kill your darlings" - an album for punks, who know how to rock, and for rockers, who discovered their punk side.
